Aloha, welcome to the newest Tropical Biplanes website. This past year we added the aircraft to our operation, a Cessna 182 Skylane. We offer the same terrific sightseeing rides in both the WACO & the Cessna 182. The main difference is that the Biplane carries 2 passengers & the Cessna can carry 3 passengers. For large groups we can fly 5 passengers at the same time. | Tropical Biplanes & Fly Kauai are the oldest fixed-wing operations on the Island of Kauai and the only WACO biplane in the State of Hawaii. Built in 2002 the WACO emulates the bi-wing aircraft of the 20s and 30s. This biplane offers smooth, stable and slow rides with added comfort and safety. Biplane passengers are furnished with nostalgic cloth helmets, goggles and headsets before boarding the red, white and blue open cockpit aircraft. Skylane passengers, up to 3, are fitted with noise-reducing intercom headsets for their ride in the enclosed cabin. All are afforded unrestricted views from window seats while receiving professional narration of facts and history of the Hawaiian Islands and the Island of Kauai. |
